The Abrupt Interruptions

Updated: Oct 26, 2020

We walk around acting as if we have no power over what we think about but we do. We give our flesh too much credit and we minimize the power of the spirit of God.

We can practice taking every thought captive and shifting our thoughts and becoming more disciplined. Although, I wasn't always here, this is a battle that I am willing to fight daily! I love my peace too much to give it over to the chaos of negative thoughts that try to beat me down.

Although, God pursued me and showed me so much love, I struggled with giving my dating life and my finances over to Him completely for many years. He knew I was scared and holding back but he never gave up on me. He continued to order my steps by making sure I was connected to the right church, that I joined the right small group that was best suited for me, and under the right leadership that I would grow under. Regardless of my flaws and screw ups, I met with God every day with an open heart and mind, wanting to be better with Him as my Lord and Savior. He welcomed me with open arms of worship in His forgiveness and love for me, each and every time.

As I practice the art of abruptly interrupting those crazy thoughts spiraling in my mind, reminding me of my mistakes and downfalls, I learned to shift and create a whole new thought or mindset by speaking the positive truth over them immediately. I have also found new outlets like rock climbing, reading or going to a park with people to sit and enjoy or walk...mostly walk. Doing that allowed me to open up and see that I can have what God has for me-- which is freedom, peace and a sound mind! I would love for everyone to have that experience for themselves because it's for everyone.

If you agree with me then join me in this prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me to get to know Your truth, that I have a sound mind and with your help, I can take control of those spiraling thoughts. Thank you for strength and peace as I learn to activate positive words over my everyday life. I love You In Jesus Name! Amen.
